Ken's Parents

I’ve been fishing around for ideas in their appearances, for Ken’s parents at least; and I haven’t developed their species yet, but they’re very much human… Just more carnivorous than we are, and have developed very much like vampires in their more recent years. They’re likely to eat each other, if food is short, or simply if their tempers get out of control.

Ken’s mother Valorie is a sub-breed of the species that is likely mate simply for the purpose of eating most of her children, after she’s reached the age of 25, which is exactly what she plans to do. Regardless of subspecies or not, the child always takes on the appearance and attributes of the father, especially if they are not a sub-breed.

The morning that Valorie goes into labor, she locks Kole inside a dog kennel, and because she openly plans to eat her baby, is not given or allowed to call for any medical help, unless the person she has mated with (assuming she doesn’t eat him, kill him, or keep him around) is medically adept and helps her along.

She starts to realize after she gives birth that she’s too weak to just eat the baby and get on with things, and some of her relatives (who are against her eating the baby) rush in to take him from her, and they ask her where the baby’s father is, only to receive “Ken…” before she dies of the blood loss.

Kole raises Ken, having been named as so by his mother’s relatives as it was her last word, and Ken ends up being a very terrible, troublesome little boy. He’s born with his mother’s hair color, oddly enough, to which Kole goes through any possible way to dye it or make it permanently like his own, so that Ken won’t get bullied… but he does get bullied anyways.

Eventually Ken meets the person whom he calls “Mistress,” the female version of Thatch, and becomes her favorite henchman, helping her overthrow kingdoms and terrorize anyone they cross paths with. Kole simply loses contact with his son, though does everything in his power to give him what he wants and what he needs to survive in live, especially advice about avoiding the sub-breeds like his mother.
